Carved Walnut Dining Room Table & 8 Chairs. **************************************** *****This Dining Room Set was made by***** The H.E. Shaw Co. from Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1919 or early 1920. It is stamped "767-102" on the underside of the table. This walnut dining set was removed from the Hanson House in Grayling, Michigan many years ago. This table with 8 chairs 2 captain's chairs and 6 side chairs. All the chair fronts are covered in dark red floral needlepoint. The chair backs and seats are covered in matching red velvet/plush. Table top is worn with small pieces of missing veneer. All pieces have wear consistent with its age. |

Carved with precise detail Buffet. **************************************** *****European Revival style Dining Set***** Step Back in time with this, antique dining room set from the home of lumber baron, Rasmus Hanson Grayling, Mich. Rare look at history, Rasmus Hanson: Born in Vester Kipping, Falster, Denmark, Mr. Hanson emigrated to the U.S. in 1865, first going to Racine, Wisconsin, then Manistee. It was there he married his wife, Margrethe, in 1867. Working his way up, Mr. Hanson became successful in the lumbering industry. In 1878, the Hansons moved to Grayling so Mr. Hanson could get logs from the forests to the Manistee River. |
