Message from the class President
North High School Class of '66 Terry Tompkins
Monday, August 29th, 2016
Something truly remarkable just happened. Together, we created an experience that for many unites elements of childhood with who we are today. Reaching beyond fifty years ago at North, earlier bonds were strengthened and threads of life were woven tighter. Relationships we currently enjoy were made even more important for the future. You played an enormous part in our success... for me, your efforts define what it means to be a "polar" and you have enriched my life. Thank you.
I choose to believe we are more now than we were in 1966. No startling revelation.... until you think about those who never made it this far, others who have been less fortunate, or people whose lives had fewer connecting threads to depend on.
Again, thank you for your many contribution to our success. Next, we will see where our classmates want to go from here..... after we celebrate our accomplishment.
Yours truly.... and proudly, Terry Tompkins North High Class of 1966

I believe everyone who came on Friday or Saturday or both nights had a wonderful time. Job well done!
Sunday evening we were with family members, including a cousin from Florida who was in town for her 60th reunion for Faribault High School this last weekend.
A large problem they had were classmates showing up without pre-registering and paying. Sincerely, Ron Jones

Hi Terry and Penny:
Thank you for your gentle guidance to agreement on our two day reunion event and for all of your hard work.
I did take a moment at the time to reflect on how the Saturday night banquet room was truly filled with the excitement and enjoyment of 180 people.
Dave Abrams wrote to me today: "The whole thing was so much fun"

Bravo to us -- the reunion was a success on so many levels!
I always audit the room. How many people are talking? Laughing? How many in more serious conversations? How many are circulating? Who's staying in one place? Who's calling people into conversations and who's connecting people to one another? On both Friday and Saturday nights our groups scored big time!
Our people were engaged and enjoying themselves. And lots of folks stayed late both nights - always a good sign! Great group.
We had so many special touches - from the diplomas to the mugs to the Polar Bear to the picture frames and job boards, wow! Floyd, your salute was meaningful and touching. People loved winning the bears! Again Floyd, your time and expense pulling together all the pictures, albums, notes and details about people, even having personal folders for some, was amazing. And Carol... all of your organizing and record keeping and the name tags - Oy! the name tags!
All in all, great reunion. Great people. Great time... Whaddaya say we do it again?
Thanks and best to all,
Pennie

Suzanne andBill Lee
We celebrated the 50th North High School Reunion of the Class of 1966 at the American Legion on Friday, in Richfield, and at the Double Tree Inn in Bloomington on Saturday. Bill had some chagrins about going to the event because he never actually graduated from North HS, instead, he went into the Marine Corps and then spent a year fighting in Vietnam. But he was so welcomed, and much time was spent in giving tribute to all the servicemen and women who served in Vietnam from the Class of '66, some of them actually never returning home. There were large displays of pictures of these combat men in uniforms or jungle fatigues, and scrap books, too, and they were all given medals/awards as part of Obama's several year focus on welcoming home the Vietnam Veteran! It was very touching! The whole two nights' events were so meaningful and Bill remembered many of his classmates, and had a great time reconnecting with many of them!
Dan Lee Very cool guys.

You speak highly of me to our children, you overtly appreciate my efforts at COR, you enrich my life spiritually, and on and on and over and over. I am a very blessed man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love you.
