E.J. Peiker; Is a professional freelance Nature Photographer. Born in 1960 in Augsburg, Germany in the German state of Bavaria near the Alps. His family moved to Mansfield, Ohio, in 1969 right before his 9th birthday. He became a citizen of the United States of America in 1975. He lived in Ohio until 1979 when he began attending Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. His original goal was to attend the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs but after he distance vision deteriorated late in high school which precluded E.J. from becoming an Air Force Pilot, he followed plan B which was set in motion when E.J. inherited his grandfathers electronics workbench several years earlier. At Purdue, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and also completed graduate studies in Microelectronics and Semiconductor Physics. For nearly 27 years, E.J. worked for the Intel Corporation in California, New Mexico, Oregon, and Arizona where I engaged in the production of the microprocessors, chip-sets, and communication chips that power modern Personal Computers, Workstations, File Servers, Super Computers and the Internet. Since 1994, he has lived in the south-central Arizona city of Chandler, a suburb southeast of Phoenix, in the Sonoran Desert. E.J. has two sons, Nicholas (22) and Gregory (17). Nick is currently attending Arizona State University in Tempe and is in the W.P. Carey Finance program. Greg is in High School. E.J. has formally studied photography at the University of New Mexico, the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and participated in photography seminars and workshops led by several renowned photographers including John Shaw, Art Wolfe, and Arthur Morris. Photography Workshop and Tour Leader
E.J. was born in 1960 in Augsburg, Germany and moved to Ohio in 1969. He attended Purdue University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and completed graduate studies in Microelectronics and Semiconductor Physics. After working for the Intel Corporation for 27 years, he is now retired from the electronics industry and is a professional freelance photographer. E.J. has formally studied photography at the University of New Mexico and completed courses from The Rocky Mountain School of Photography. E.J. has two sons, and has lived in Chandler, Arizona since 1994.
A photographic specialty is artistic images of ducks and E.J. has published the book Ducks of North America - The Photographer’s Guide. E.J. is also prolific in landscape photography, his first photographic love.
E.J.’s photographs have been published worldwide in books, advertising, magazines, billboards, murals and more. Some of his publishers and clients include The National Geographic Society, World Wildlife Fund, The United States National Parks Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the United States Navy, State Parks Arizona, Barrons, and Dorling Kindersley. New Zealand Post honored E.J. by making one of his penguin images the primary image for their 2014 Commemorative Antarctica Ross Dependency Stamp set. He has also been named one of the top 100 Wildlife Photographers in the world by Eastern Europe’s Digital Photographer Magazine.
