Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush, I am that swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.

My father's Burial will be at
Fort Snelling National Cemetery
April 20th, 2023 at 2 pm
We will be meeting inside the main gate at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 7601 34th Ave South Minneapolis, MN 55450 around 1:15-1:30 pm April 20th, 2023. We have been assigned assembly area 2 please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the service in that assembly area. Our Cemetery Representative will meet us in Assembly Area 2. From the Assembly Area, we will follow (driving) behind our Cemetery Representative to the shelter area, where Floyd Sr's service will take place. Shelters have roofs, but no walls; please dress accordingly. It will be cold and possibly raining. The National Cemetery asks that we arrive 15 minutes early (1:45pm), please do not pull into the Assembly Area more than 20 minutes early. We do not want you to get mixed in with another service. If you're running late and you need a shortcut to Assembly Area 2: please drive past the Main Gate and enter through GATE 2. Once you’ve entered the cemetery, you will see Assembly Area signs on your left-hand side. Floyd Sr's service with honors will be at 2pm so don't be late. Looks like it will rain so bring your umbrellas and dress warm. If you’re using navigation to travel to Fort Snelling National Cemetery, please ensure that you search Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If you only search Fort Snelling, you may be directed to a different location. Once we wrap up Floyd Sr's service we'll make our way over to the gravesite in section 26 grave number 1385 . I will be placing the balance of the flowers on Floyd and Norma's grave. Once we wrap up at the cemetery you're all welcome to join us at Carbone's Pizzeria Bar & Grill at 55 Wentworth Ave E in West St. Paul, MN 55118 about 10 miles from the cemetery.

I wasn't able to make it today. I want to send my condolences to you and your family.
I always enjoyed my time with my uncle Floyd and my aunt Norma. They seemed to have fun together.
I didn't get to see them very often because of the distance.
I was probably around 8 or 9 and they were in Minnesota. I went with them to someone's cabin for a weekend. I am not sure why but I don't think any of the rest of my family was with at the cabin that weekend.
We went fishing on some little lake by the cabin. Not the lake where the cabin was located. It was Norma, Floyd and me. We ran out of worms about an hour into the fishing excursion. It was like a hidden lake with so many fish that you barely threw the line in and you had one on the line. There aren't any lakes like that in Minnesota anymore.
The lack of worms didn't stop us. We just threw in our lines with no worms on the hook and continued to catch sunfish. The three of us had a blast and of course laughed the whole afternoon.
Just thought I would share a story with your family. Once again my condolences.

What experiences Floyd, Sr. must have had over the years as one of the Greatest Generation. His Navy service and his children, grandchildren, and their children and grandchildren are his gift to our world, and a lasting legacy.

Floyd A Ruggles
He came this way but once. Yet, he touched my life in many ways while he was here.
Floyd Arthur Heidelberger - Born September 18th, 1927
in Chippewe County Wisconsin on the family farm.
When Floyd Arthur Heidelberger was born on September 18, 1927, in the Town of Sampson in Chippewa County,Wisconsin, his father, Edward William Heidelberger, was 36 and his mother, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kranz - Heidelberger, was 37. He had four brothers and one sister at the time of his birth.
William Edward (1913–1994), Donald R. (1915–2003), Cecil Clyde (1920–2008) ,Alice May (1923–1994) and Roy N (1923–1934)
Floyd's parents divorced and his mother remarred and then he had 2 stepbrothers and 2 stepsisters.
Florence Margaret Brown (1930–1989), Rodney Gale Brown (1931–2001), Mary Ann Minnie Brown (1933–1992) and Clifford Lloyd Brown (1935–2009)
Floyd had many nephews and nieces that loved him. I would love to have named them all in his obituary but I would have had take out a large loan to do that.
Floyd loved to fish, play card games and play the horses. I'll remember him for his fantastic smile and his playful personality and also his spaghetti and meatballs. You can find his secret recipe for his meatballs on his memorial page. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
