Its great to know that a lot of us are still around. I have not attended any of the reunions, but this one will be special. I am probably one of the least visible persons in this graduating class. No clubs, limited athletic activity, low profile. Here is a short history of my life since graduation.

Barr-Nelson,, Inc. and its employees have over 37 years experience in the construction industry. Its main service is to provide project management for multifamily and commercial structures. In addition, it accepts offers to bid as general contactor on many private projects.
George Barr has a degree from the University of Minnesota in Economics and Math, graduating in 1972.
From 1974 – 1979 He worked at Midwest Title Insurance Company for 5 years and when it became Chicago Title Insurance, he was appointed the head of its construction disbursement department. The Department consisted of 12 employees that handled disbursement of funds from most of the major lenders in Minneapolis and St. Paul.The Builders that he worked with were Darrel Farr Development, Vern Donney Homes, Bor-Son Construction, Kraus-Anderson, United Properties,
Weis Builders, Welsh Construction and many more. Most of the people that worked for George Barr during this time are now upper management at various Title Companies in the Twin Cities.
After leaving Chicago Title and a tour with the U.S. Army, he returned to Minnesota to work for his fathers Construction Company Lowry Hill Construction.
Lowry Hill Construction built a major share of the apartments in Brooklyn Park Minnesota in addition to Crystal, Minnesota. In addition, the company branched out to do Banks, Libraries, Fire Stations, Municipal Buildings and Custom Homes. This included work in Hudson Wisc, The City of Plymouth, The City of Golden Valley, and State Bank of Long Prairie, Northwest Airlines, Republic Airlines, River Falls Wisc., Amery, and Wisc. New Richmond Wisc. Etc. In these cases, George Barr was the project Manager and Estimator.
Project Manager for Complete Construction of Minneapolis. Supervised the construction and completion of dozens of new inner city home for Greater Minneapolis Housing Corporation.
Project Manager for Complete Construction of Minneapolis for MPHA housing 25Th and Cedar Minneapolis. Involves Davis –Bacon wage compliance and apprentice program monitoring. Also on site OSHA safety officer.
Worked with North Side Redevelopment Council on new inner city housing.
Barr-Nelson, Inc,. Has provided Construction management for the following projects: These are just a few of the projects we have worked on and are working on currently
1)Fife Point (1926 Pleasant Ave So.) This was a 9 unit Condo Conversion with 5 additional new units. This was completed in 2003.
2)42nd Street Lofts Phase I (4150Dight Ave.) This was 7 unit loft style condo project. The project was featured on WCCO in the 2005 loft tour. The first phase has been sold out.
42nd Street Lofts Phase II (4140Dight Ave.) This is a 12 unit project phased into two buildings and is currently under construction. 3)Fife Point (1926 Pleasant Ave So.). Have been asked by owner to complete interior finish of three additional units. 4)Red Wing Independent Living. This is a 108 unit complex in Red Wing Minnesota. 5)On the Boards: Gateway II Owatonna Minnesota. An 80 unit apartment project with 30,000 sq.ft of retail. Submission has been made for preliminary approval for a development contract with the City of Owatonna. MCMSI is in partnership with Gateway II Llc to develop this site.
