Jim's Dash
The dates on a tombstone from the beginning to the end.
|
WHY THE DASH?
The DASH refers to the little horizontal line on our gravestones; the one between the date we are born and the date we pass away. The DASH represents everything in between and how we choose to live it. Life is not a dress rehearsal, so make your dash count!

I heard “The Dash” by Linda Ellis at Jim's memorial on August 28th, 2011. Roger, Jim's younger brother, read the poem. I don’t think there was one dry eye. That poem was amazing. I will always remember the first time hearing it. These words reflected on Jim's life, the words said it all about him. He lived life with a smile. These words in "The Dash" are for all of us. Live your Dash and make it count... Thanks Roger

Roger, I want to express my deepest sympathy to Jim's family and friends. Jim always had time for his friends. I will miss him more than any words can express. Floyd
