It is great hearing from you. I am so glad I was able to find you. I will take you off the missing list. Thanks for all the kind words about the website. I did design it and it really is gratifying to know how much you enjoyed it. Yes we were young in '66... Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it to the reunion but I look forward to seeing you at the 50th. Keep in tourch and enjoy the website from time to time.

We're in the Heart of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes!
|
There is no rush hour in Hackensack - no massive traffic jams where you sit and move only inches every five or ten mintues. No sirree - Hackensack is just what you need to reconnect with your family and experience the kind of vacation you only dream about. Hackensack is located 50 minutes north of Brainerd, 50 minutes south of Bemidji and 30 minutes from the headwaters of the Mississippi River - right in the very heart of lake country. In fact, there are 127 lakes in a 10-mile radius from Hackensack; the Foothills State Forest; the Chippewa National Forest; the North Country walking trail; Deep Portage Reserve; Northern Lights Casino; and the premier Paul Bunyan biking Trail right through the center of it all.
Vacations in Hackensack allow families to return to the basics - rent a cabin, complete with kitchens if you choose to cook your own. Our family-oriented resorts offer fishing, hunting, water sports, campfires and time on the beach and on the water. A beautiful sunrise with the family is only beat by a beautirul sunset over one of the lakes. While Hackensack counts less than 300 full-time residents, the town is busy and residents are always friendly and helpful to our many visitors.
If your choice is a larger lake, Hackensack is eight minutes from Leech Lake, four minutes from Ten Mile Lake, ten minutes from Pine Mountain Lake and 15 minutes from Woman Lake. If your choice is a smaller lake, that leaves 123 from which to choose.
And yes, sweethearts abound in Hackensack- starting with Paul Bunyan's sweetheart and wife of 172 years - Lucette. She stands guard over the town, the Kid's Fishing Contest every Tuesday during the summer, and all of the community events such as Back to Hack in February, the Sweetheart Canoe Derby in June, Sweetheart Days in July and the National Chainsaw Sculpting Invitational in September.
So come visit Hackensack you'll find us in the heart of Minnesota's 10,000 plus lakes! Click here for more....
