So many great memories, smiles and laughs shared. Mary was always there to help with our reunions, the planning, the partying. She was a very kind and giving person of her time and friendship. My prayers and thoughts are with the Smith and Rivers family.

Mary Rivers, you were my friend at Calvary Methodist church. We went to Sunday School together. You were fun and we had a friendship during the blow ups on Plymouth Ave between blacks and whites. But we remained friends and thought nothing of it while parents were trying to protect thier kids by keeping them segregated. I left N Mpls when I was 13, eventually became a nurse like I said I would. Over the years, you have crossed my mind many times. I loved your laugh and remember us holding hands as kids. I hope you had a good life because you were a great person.

Mary and I attended North High School together, graduating in 1966. She was always full of joy and laughter. Oh, how we loved her laugh! In recent years we worked together on our Reunion committee, coming up with creative ideas and sharing memories. Her infectious smile along with her never ending energy always kept us going. She spoke so very lovingly of her precious family, we could literally see the pride she had in each of them. Her smile, laugh, kindness and energy will be missed by all of us. Rest well now in the Lord's warm embrace Mary.
