Welcome to the North High School Class of 1966 web site, a work in progress.  At this time, our site contains over 1500 pages.  We hope you enjoy it.  Please feel free to revisit often and if you have any comments or questions, you may gave us Feedback on facebook or email the webmaster.  We invite you to please sign or view our Guest Book and to drop us a line.

Our next reunion, the 50th Reunion, will take place in 2016.  Details will be announced on our
Reunion page when they are finalized.

On behalf of the reunion committee, thank you all and please attend the Reunion.  It will be great to see everyone and  you will enjoy yourselves.  For those who will be unable to attend the reunion, we invite you to keep in touch with us via this web site.  We sincerely enjoy hearing from everyone.

If you have old reunion photos or school photos that you would like to see on this web site, please email the
"webmaster".  If you have other photos for the site, we welcome those as well.

We have a class database and currently it is not up-to-date.  Classmates continue to move, however, so it remains a dynamic record.
You may Update your information by emailing the Webmaster.  Please make certain that we have your current address, phone, email address, etc.  The information is used for reunion purposes only.

Be sure to view all our web pages and "album" pages.
Wasn't it just yesterday that we climbed up those "down" staircases at North High?  School spirit was in full swing!  As an interesting sidelight, I find it newsworthy but a little disappointing that the New NHS is not the same school since we attended!

We were fortunate to participate in or to be an enthusiastic spectator at the many athletic games.  Sports developed discipline and sportsmanship, and those sports offered at NHS were: football, cross country, swimming, basketball, hockey, gymnastics, wrestling, skiing, track, tennis, golf, baseball, badminton, and volleyball.  Remember cheering at the games and those casual days on Fridays?

After the games, having worked up an appetite, we frequented some of our favorite hang outs.

In the '60s, there were 11 Minneapolis public high schools:  Central, Edison, Henry, Marshall, North, Roosevelt, South, Southwest, Vocational, Washburn, and West, but today, only seven remain.  Central and West were closed in 1982 and have been torn down; Marshall was also closed in 1982 and Vocational in 1976, but both are currently used for other purposes. South was demolished and rebuilt nearby, opening in 1970.  The old North High was demolished. (I'm looking for photos of our school beening demolished and the tear down) and rebuilt the winter of 1973-74 to the best of my knowledge.

The '50s and '60s were great years and I am glad to have grown up during that time.  I hope you feel the same.
Enjoy our site from the Class of '66 and please revisit often, as additional photos and pages are frequently added!  Bookmark it for future reference.  If you have questions on navigating this site please contact the webmaster.  Have fun and thanks for stopping by today!
