The Worcester Porcelain factory was founded in 1751 in Worcester, England, and began producing hard paste porcelain blue and white tea wares. The company received a warrant to produce porcelain for the Queen in 1879, and subsequently added the Royal name. At its height, the firm employed about 1,000 people, but later merged with Spode.
