THE JOY OF TEACHING

Why be a teacher? The short answer is easy:

  • to witness the diversity of growth in young people, and their joy in learning
  • to encourage lifelong learning—both for yourself and for others
  • to experience the challenge of devising and doing interesting, exciting activities for the young

Steven Friedell Sometimes I look in the mirror and think I'm more like my father than I realized. Then I saw a photo of my mother's uncle and realized we had to be related.

Attendees of the seventh annual Donald C. Clark, Jr., '79, Endowed Law and Religion Lecture enjoyed a lively discussion of the thought experiment on what it means to have a religion specific constitution in a nation which is predominantly grounded in that particular faith.

“The goal of the topic was to help dispel stereotypes and broaden the questions regarding the intersection of law and religion, “says Michael Alberico, editor-in-chief of the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion. “Specifically, the piece explored the difficulties and advantages of such a constitution compared to a secular one, especially when considering this fictitious nation may have multiple Jewish/Christian/Islamic denominations."

All three speakers will be featured in the spring issue of the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion.
