Maple Grove - Johnson, Michael H. Age 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Maple Grove on Wednesday August 13, 2025, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by son Michael, parents Ben and Alzina and sister Melanie. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years Kathy, his children Jeffrey and Steven, granddaughter Milena and grandson Eli. Mike graduated from North High in 1966. Mike & Kathy were high school sweethearts and married a year after they graduated. They became the loving and proud parents of 3 boys. Mike became a proud union pipefitter of Local 539 for 55 years. He taught apprentice pipefitters for 15 years. He became business agent and then business manager of the local. He had a strong work ethic and always tried to be fair. He made many great friendships with his brother and sister pipefitters. Mike was an avid car enthusiast. He and his wife both loved drag racing and spent many weekends racing at the track where they made many great friends. They also loved going to old car shows where they made many more great friends. Mike was always willing to help anyone who needed help and he had a great sense of humor. If you were around him, you were guaranteed to laugh because he always had a great story to tell. He loved talking with his friends and working out in his garage on cars or inventing all sorts of things. A special thank you to North Memorial Hospice for all the comfort and care they gave to Mike and his family. We love you Mike forever and always in all ways. We shall meet again. The family had a private service and will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
