Be prepared. Plan ahead. Work hard so tasks will be easier for those who follow you. Teresa's health is fragile and she laid out songs, poems, verses for her funeral. Kinda morbid, but it it sets the mind at ease . . So scanning/preparing a 50-photo "tribute" to be played at a memorial. Talk about weird feeling. This week (before my birthday) I will post a few. And in a month will post some of hers. Remember, we're ALL 'terminal'; no one gets out of life alive. Preparation for eternity is priority #1

Dan Grise has been playing guitar and singing in bands for more years than he would care to admit. He began his career with a high school friend in a band called Harvey. He went full time with a "back to the fifties"band called The Golden Rock Review. That was in the days when nightclubs had music with the same band six nights a week. Dan and two other members then splintered off to form Sugartree. Four years later, Dan and another member began Visions, which had a seven year run. For more Click Here...

David Millett started his career in music very young in the great state of Texas, learning from local blues masters such as Paul Ray and the Cobras, Denny Freeman, and the Vaughn brothers. He soon got into the full fledged heavy metal scene playing in bands such as Alcatraz, Crystal Image, Traxx, and Savage Grace. Click Here

It was the mid-seventies and many of Allen's friends had purchased their first guitars, but they had no one to provide those sweet low notes. Soon Allen's friend Greg marched him off to the music store, loaned him the money, and bought him his first bass. "It was a red hollow body Epiphone and the strings were about an inch off the fretboard at the seventh fret." Perfect for building up hand strength! Nobody seemed to care if Allen had learned to play the darn thing yet "just come over and jam". Click Here

Curt Jones was born and raised in the small town of Randall, Minnesota. He started playing the drums when he was thirteen and began playing small bars around central Minnesota when he was fifteen. During the seventies, Curt lived and played in the St. Cloud area, working with a band called The Mason Dixon Line, playing mostly 50's and 60's music. In the later seventies he moved on to a band called Back Pages, performing the current music of the time. One thing you might notice about Curt, Click Here...

Here are a few photos of Camp Reasoner in Da Nang as it looks today.

Take a ride past Freedom Hill to Camp Reasoner. The old camp stone sign is still there as well as an EGA over the guard shack door. The camp is in the hands of the army making it dangerous to go through it for a full tour of the area. It is believed the rock quarrying operation is an Army business. The Army runs a number of business including a cell phone network, hotels and other public works services.

ELVIS PRESLEY 80th BIRTHDAY

January 8, 2015
would have been Elvis Presley's 80th birthday

Yet to fans,Elvis will always be the sleek fellow with the wild hips and the mellow singing voice. Fifties Web pays tribute to Elvis Presley, the true King of Rock and Roll.

While this site includes his whole life, there is special emphasis on his early years, when he began his career in music. When the world fell in love with the handsome guy from Tupelo Mississippi.

 "You're The Reason I'm Living"

You're the reason I'm livin'...

You're the breath that I take
You're the stars in my heaven
You're the sun when I wake.

You're the reason I'm livin'...

Whoa... you carry me through
All of life's little burdens
I'd be lost without you.

A long, long time ago
When I was down
Whoa... you picked me up
And showed me
True love still could be found.

You're the reason I do things
You're the things that I do
You're the reason I'm livin'
I'd be lost without you.

Come and tell me again...

You're the reason I'm livin'...

Whoa... you carry me through
All of life's little burdens
I'd be lost without you.
