Kit Hansen 2016 |
|
|
Not all is well in Hansen Land, but it could have been so much worse. I was on the bad end of a pick-up truck / pedestrian collision last Thursday 12/15. The good news is that I did not hit my head, lose consciousness, nor am I paralyzed. Also good: my dear border collie Phoebe was not injured. The bad news is: broken clavicle 3 broken ribs left front 2-3 broken ribs left back (heard conflicting reports) 2 hairline fractures right pelvis (1 anterior, 1 posterior) hairline fracture sacrum olla
Amazingly, I was released from HCMC yesterday 12/18 (a testimony to my overall fitness I dare say). That said, it is an uphill path to full recovery; still lots of pain and limitations in mobility. I am walking with an offset cane. I am particularly concerned with regaining full mobility and strength on my left side. Broken ribs send out loud shouts, as you can imagine.
I am receiving amazing support from Steve (of course) and friends are chomping at the bit to help out.

Message from the class President
"Due to the increasing number of NHS grads and guests registering for the Saturday (August 27th) reunion at the DoubleTree, our room location has been changed. We will meet in the same area, but in the combined main floor space of Plaza 5 & 6. The Plaza Mall immediately outside the rooms will also be ours for the evening." Terry
"A request for those spending Saturday evening at the DoubleTree: if you wish to meet for breakfast and more conversation on Sunday morning, we can be accommodated in the Crescent Kitchen restaurant between 8:30 and 10:00 AM. If we know 24 people would commit, the manager will bring in an extra server and seat us in an adjoining area. A breakfast buffet is available for $12.95 pp. Please email Terry Tompkins at tpdrewcrew@gmail.com by August 24th if you want to be included."

Minneapolis/Richfield
American Legion Post 435
|
When you first enter the Minneapolis/Richfield American Legion Post you will find that it has a very relaxed and dive bar feel. However, when you glance to the right of the entrance you will find a large casual dining area equipped with a fireplace and huge windows. The Turner Room where we are meeting Friday August 26th adjoins the dining room. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and all of the staff members are very attentive. Terry & Penny Tompkins, my wife Linda and I have eaten at the American Legion Post many times because the food is always delicious with generous portions at a very reasonable price. The dining room is open from 5-8:30 pm. All food and drinks are on your own. No cover charge. See you on Friday.

Oh my loving sister Carol you are so deeply loved and missed by your family, the justice system has failed but your family will continue to fight and be your voice. We know it will not bring you back, but it is the right thing to do cause we also know when it is our time to leave this world that someday we will be with you again. And until that time we will have done our best to honor and make things right for what is already wrong, we love you Carol Lynn Stebbins Hoffman always. Kathy Stebbins

ELVIS PRESLEY 81st BIRTHDAY
January 8, 2016 would have been Elvis Presley's 81st birthday
Yet to fans,Elvis will always be the sleek fellow with the wild hips and the mellow singing voice. Fifties Web pays tribute to Elvis Presley, the true King of Rock and Roll.
While this site includes his whole life, there is special emphasis on his early years, when he began his career in music. When the world fell in love with the handsome guy from Tupelo Mississippi.
