Jokes-of-the-Day
Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a State Police Officer sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH. He thinks to himself, this driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!" So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over. Approaching the car, he notices that there are five old ladies -- two in the front seat and three in the back -- wide eyed and white as ghosts. The driver, obviously confused, says to him, Officer, I don't understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem? "Ma'am," the officer replies, you weren't speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers. Slower than the speed limit? No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly... Twenty-two miles an hour! "The old woman says a bit proudly. The State Police officer, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that 22 was the route number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error. But before I let you go, Ma'am, I have to ask... Is everyone in this car OK? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven't muttered a single peep this whole time, "the officer asks. Oh, they'll be all right in a minute officer. We just got off Route 119... for more jokes click here

Message from the class President
North High School Class of '66 Terry Tompkins
Musical addition for the NHS gathering
We today completed a cost sharing arrangement with the Crystal VFW to have live music in-house the evening of our gathering there. The Ruggles, Penny and I visited the club last Friday evening and were impressed with the band’s music (The “Percolators”). Terry T.
Email from:Terry Tompkins July 17th, 2018 at 7:42 PM
.
Updates from the June 27th meeting at Carol Pagel Haider’s and today’s follow-up visit at the Crystal VFW...........
1. Event hours: 4-11 PM, with set-up access available throughout the day beforehand.
2. We will have the entire lower level for our gathering, with a full bar / bar-tender provided, and access to the upstairs dining and entertainment area. We are in continuing discussion about the provision of live music upstairs that evening.
3. The intent is keep things as simple as possible for the gathering: register and pay-at-the-door is OK; simple name tags and a hand stamp (Sue Wehr has located one); no centerpieces; no door prizes; a celebration birthday cake for all the 70year-olds; and some bar snacks and munchies available on tables. Bill Binder has volunteered to secure a full sheet cake and a few balloons.
4. Those wishing to eat dinner at the club are strongly encouraged to phone in a reservation request (763-537-9914): kitchen closes 9 PM.
5. Tables in use will primarily be rounds, with limited rectangular tables available for other uses. A/V equipment is onsite, but limited. Our memorial for departed classmates will be updated and displayed.
6. A brief intro and “program” with announcements will take place around 7 PM.
7. A request has been made by the family of Diane and Duane Witherspoon to provide a space to feature their music, which interested parties might purchase. The request will be granted.
I think this sums it up......sorry if I missed something. Terry T.

Saints safety Marcus Williams owns up to mistake on Stefon Diggs’ game-winning touchdown
#43 Saints safety Marcus Williams
“Man, it was just my play to make,” said Williams, who missed the tackle around the Saints’ 35-yard line that allowed Minnesota Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs to run free for a 61-yard, game-winning touchdown in Minnesota’s 29-24 victory.
“The ball was in the air. I didn’t go attack it. And he came down and made a great play, and that’s just on me,” said Williams. “I just gotta be that guy and go up and get the ball. As a safety back there, you gotta be the eraser. And that was my job.”
Prince’s ghost blocked Marcus Williams, only explanation for this Minnesota Miracle.
#7 Case Keenum
The Vikings needed a miracle, so they called a play called “Seven Heaven.”
With the Vikings seconds away from yet another devastating postseason defeat, they came up with perhaps the most dramatic victory in team history. Stefon Diggs caught a 61-yard touchdown pass from Case Keenum on the final play for a 29-24 victory over New Orleans in a divisional playoff game Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
“Wow,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said. “That was a heck of a game, wasn’t it? And the good guys won.”
The Vikings advanced to play at Philadelphia next Sunday in the NFC championship game.
